• Alicante’s market garden has a huge variety of vegetables and the seafood and fish are captured every day. The meat and cured sausages are produced in the nearby mountains. In the cuisine of Alicante, these ingredients are mostly used with rice. That’s why Alicante also has many rice-restaurants.

• Nougat is one of the most famous dessert of Alicante, which is usually eaten around Christmas but extraordinary at any season. The soft nougat is called 'Jijona' and the hard nougat is called 'Alicante'.

• There are also the Alicante Denomination of Origin wines.

• Alicante is an ideal place in the winter. In this period the temperature can be around 14°C.
