ALICANTE

General information about Alicante

Alicante is situated in the region of comunidad valenciana.It is the second largest town in the region of comunidad valenciana with its area being around 202 square km (78 square miles). It is part of the costa blanca and sits between the cities of Murcia and Valencia. The surroundings of Alicante are mountains and the coast which makes it a beautiful place to live or visit. It has a population of about 284,000 people and is a very popular tourist area. One of the aspects that make Alicante stand out is its white sandy beaches and its unique nightlife.

The temperature in Alicante is usually pleasant, with the average temperature in the winter being around 8/9 degrees Celsius and the average temperature in the summer being around 26/27 degrees Celsius. The amount of days that it rains in a month ranges from between as little as 1 day a month to a maximum of 6 days a month. Although the warm climate Alicante´s humidity still remains fairly moderate and so it is usually pleasant to walk around the city. Alicante has its own international airport and it is situated about 11km (7miles) south of Alicante city. It is easily accessible and there are many flights going in and out of it everyday. Although Alicante is known or its beaches it also has lots of History behind the city.
